How to reconcile Phantom wallet transaction history with a trade spreadsheet (record-keeping only)

Not tax advice. Every number, token and signature below is EXAMPLE data. This is about record-keeping only: making sure your spreadsheet and your wallet history tell the same story. It does not say whether or how anything is taxed where you live. For that, ask a tax advisor.

Nah is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Phantom, Solscan or Solana; names only describe where data comes from. Crypto assets are volatile; you can lose some or all of your money. Sources checked 21 October 2026; details may change.

A trade sheet built from CSV exports can look complete and still miss a swap or repeat a row. Reconciling means checking it against the wallet history in both directions, using one key: the transaction signature.

Step 1: Know what Phantom does and doesn't give you

Phantom's help center is direct: "Phantom does not issue tax forms … or provide tax advice." For a manual Solana export it points you to Solscan: open solscan.io, enter your Solana address from Phantom, select the Transfers tab, select Export CSV (Phantom: Export your transaction history for taxes).

Your address is under Receive (Phantom: View your wallet history on a blockchain explorer). Only the public address is needed; never share your Secret Recovery Phrase.

Solscan's export returns "the latest 1,000 records only (even within the selected filtered range)", so busy wallets need date filters (Solscan: Export CSV).

Step 2: Make the signature your matching key

Phantom explains that each transaction has a unique identifier: "On Solana, it's called a signature" (Phantom).

In the trade spreadsheet, put that signature in the Tx hash column (G) of every row. A swap is logged as one Sell row plus one Buy row, so both rows carry the same signature:

Date Type Token Qty Price Fee Tx hash (G) Notes (H)
2026-04-02 Buy EXAMPLE-TKN 5000 0.02 0.10 EXAMPLE-sig-7 swap, received
2026-04-02 Sell SOL 0.5 200 0 EXAMPLE-sig-7 swap, given

Use Notes (H) for venue, price source and "checked against Phantom".

Step 3: Forward check, wallet to sheet

Work through Phantom's History for the period. Per the help center, open a transaction there and choose View on Solscan (mobile: profile avatar, then History; extension: the clock icon). For each item:

  1. Copy the signature and search for it in column G.
  2. A swap: you should find exactly two rows, one Sell and one Buy, with the tokens and amounts shown in the transaction's token transfers.
  3. Not a swap (transfer, staking, airdrop): see Step 6.
  4. Status: Phantom lists status ("Whether the transaction completed, is pending, or failed") among the transaction details. Log only what actually moved according to the token transfers. A failed transaction moves no tokens, but a network fee may still have been charged; note it in Notes (H).

Tick each signature off in Notes.

Step 4: Reverse check, sheet to explorer

Now go the other way. Sort or filter by column G and, for every signature:

Step 5: Expect items that only the explorer shows

Phantom notes that explorers "may show tokens and spam transfers that Phantom hides or filters." So the export can contain lines you never saw in the app. Don't delete them silently; note each one (date, token, amount, signature) as spam or unknown. If a token you really bought is now hidden or can't be sold, keep its Buy row and note the status; see how to record rugged or worthless memecoins.

Step 6: Transfers, staking and airdrops

The workbook accepts only Buy and Sell rows; transfers and staking can only be noted in the Notes column and are not calculated. Note own-wallet transfers and staking with their signature. How to treat these is a question for your tax advisor.

Airdrops are not calculated automatically: you can log them manually as a Buy row at a value you choose (e.g. 0 or fair value; ask an advisor which), as explained in the guide.

Step 7: Close the loop
